YOUR PATH TO BETTER HEART HEALTH STARTS HERE
  • 12-LEAD RESTING ECG
An Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a non-invasive and valuable diagnostic tool. It is a simple test that can be used to check your heart's rhythm and electrical activity. It is often used alongside other tests to help diagnose and monitor conditions affecting the heart. It can be used to investigate symptoms of a possible heart problem, such as chest pain, palpitations (suddenly noticeable heartbeats), dizziness and shortness of breath. An ECG can help detect: arrhythmias – where the heart beats too slowly, too quickly, or irregularly coronary heart disease – where the heart's blood supply is blocked or interrupted by a build-up of fatty substances heart attacks – where the supply of blood to the heart is suddenly blocked cardiomyopathy – where the heart walls become thickened or enlarged. A series of ECGs can also be taken over time to monitor a person already diagnosed with a heart condition or taking medication known to potentially affect the heart. INVESTIGATION PRICE: £100
  • 24-HOUR AMBULATORY BP MONITOR (ABPM)
Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) is when your blood pressure is measured as you move around, living your normal daily life. It is measured for up to 24 hours. A small digital blood pressure monitor is attached to a belt around your waist and connected to a cuff around your upper arm as part of specific cardiac diagnostic investigations. Who needs ABPM: Have high blood pressure based on readings at your GP surgery, but you haven’t yet started treatment. Need changes to your blood pressure medications. Still have high blood pressure despite medications. Are taking other medications that may affect your blood pressure. Have fainting episodes or hypotension (low blood pressure). Have high blood pressure during pregnancy. INVESTIGATION PRICE: £175
  • 24 HOURS TO 9 DAYS AMBULATORY ECG (HOLTER MONITOR / PATCHES)
SPECIAL 12 LEAD HOLTER MONITOR - FOR COMPLEX ARRHYTHMIA DETECTION A 24-hour ECG recording also called ‘Holter monitoring' or 'ambulatory ECG monitoring', involves continuously recording your heart’s electrical activity for 24 hours for up to 7 days. INVESTIGATION PRICE: 24 HOURS - £175 48 HOURS - £225
  • ZENICOR CARDIAC EVENT RECORDERS FOR LONG TERM ECG MONITORING
The Zenicor-ECG is a complete and easy solution for early diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias (Atrial Fibrillation) and stroke prevention. With this handheld wireless ECG device you, as the patient, can easily take your own unlimited ECG measurements at anytime from anywhere. It is directly connected to your clinical health care professional who can reassure you about your heart rhythm on regular basis till you have this device with you. INVESTIGATION PRICE: 1 MONTH - £300
  • ECHOCARDIOGRAM (HEART SCAN)
An echocardiogram, or "echo", is a scan used to look at the heart and nearby blood vessels. It's a type of ultrasound scan, which means a small probe is used to send out high-frequency sound waves that create echoes when they bounce off different parts of the body. These echoes are picked up by the probe and turned into a moving image on a monitor while the scan is carried out. An echocardiogram may be requested by a heart specialist (cardiologist) or any doctor who thinks you might have a problem with your heart, including your GP. The test will usually be carried out at a hospital or clinic by a cardiologist, cardiac physiologist, or a trained technician called a sonographer. An echocardiogram provides a more accurate picture of your heart including heart muscles, valves, function of heart (contractility) and blood flow during each cardiac cycle. INVESTIGATION PRICE: £300
  • PACEMAKER, CARDIAC DEFIBRILLATOR AND OTHER CARDIAC DEVICE CHECKS
A pacemaker is a small device that's placed (implanted) in the chest to help control the heartbeat. It is used to prevent the heart from beating too slowly. It requires a yearly check to assess its function and efficacy. An implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) is a device similar to a pacemaker, but it delivers a stronger electrical shock to the heart to "reboot" it and restore normal rhythm. Some devices combine both a pacemaker and an ICD for comprehensive cardiac support. PERMANENT PACEMAKER CHECK (AVAILABLE ON REQUEST) £200 CARDIAC DEFIBRILLATOR CHECK (AVAILABLE ON REQUEST) £250
